Since 10/2021 I am Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences at the University of Bamberg, Bavaria, Germany.
I'm the head of the Department of General Psychology and Methodology at the University of Bamberg, Germany, since 10/2008.
In winter term 2012 I was a short-termed Visiting Professor at the University of Warsaw, Poland and in summer term 2012 I was a Visiting Professor at the University of Pavia, Italy.
In 2008 I was a Visiting Professor in the Department of Product Innovation Management at the Delft University of Technology (Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering), The Netherlands
From 2005-2008 I worked at the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Vienna; 2005-2006: Assistant Professor; 2006-2008: Associate Professor (PD).
In 2004 I was a visting post-doc at the Department of Psychology at the University of Glasgow.
From 2001-2005 I worked as a research assistant at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Science at the Freie Universität Berlin and the TU Dresden.
In 1999 I founded the management consultant company data-science, located in Berlin.
From 1994 till 1998 I have been working at the University of Trier, Germany as a research student in several projects of the Division of General and Cognitive Psychology (head: Prof. K.-F. Wender) and in a project for the development of computerized tutor systems (head: Prof G. Weber).

1998: Dipl-Psych. (diploma, which fulfills M.A.) degree in psychology at University of Trier.
1999: 2nd M.A. degree (in philosophy) at the University of Trier.
2003: PhD in psychology on early face processing.
2006: 2nd PhD thesis: Habilitation in psychology on processing of complex visual objects.
My research interests are in the field of aesthetics, perception, memory and ergonomics as well as in the advancement of methods in social sciences:
